PREPROCEDURE & AFTERCARE
Brows
PREPROCEDURE
- Gently Exfoliate your brows 48 hours before and moisturize your brows.
- Avoid any blood thinning medication like pain killers, etc: includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, and Ibuprofen.
- NO alcohol and caffeine within 24 hours of your appointment.
- NO tanning, waxing brows, or extreme sun exposure 7 days before appointment.
- No Makeup on procedure area
- No cuts, cold sores, pimples, rash, allergic reactions on procedure area
- Must not be allergic to red color ink, dyes, etc
- Cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding - If you have anemia or low iron, please take an iron supplement prior to procedure.
- Cannot be on Accutane for 1 year
AFTERCARE
1. On same day, use a wet cotton round with filtered/distilled water & gently wipe brows every hour until you go to sleep.
2. Let it dry heal for 2 days after this. Make sure to not take hot steamy showers, sweat/workout, or go to extreme sun/heat.
3. On the 3rd day, gently wash your brows one time a day and then apply the aftercare ointment (a&d, aquaphor, or hustle butter). You may pat wash with mild soapy water (water mix with soap), splash rinse, and gently pat dry w/ clean towel.
4. Once fully dry, apply the ointment. If you have oily skin, apply once at night only.
5. No touching or picking the flakey skin on eyebrows during healing. Let naturally fall
6. NO makeup on the eyebrow area for 10 days.
9. Refrain from drinking alcohol within 2 days after procedure. Alcohol in excess slows the healing period and can affect healed results.
10. Wash pillow cases often & sleep face up. Sleeping on the side can cause premature peeling due to rubbing, and dirty pillow can cause infection.
What to Expect
Brows may be a little swollen and red after the procedure the first 2-3 days. At day 3, they will oxidize more and get darker. Do not be alarm by this, it is not the true pigment that we used on you. Your brows should heal 30% lighter than what you see from day 1.
Day 4-5: new skin will grow and old skin will shed. You will see some flaking of old skin, along with residual pigment —this does not mean you are losing pigment in the skin. Please do not pick or pull on the flaking skin, it can cause premature scarring—and that area will not heal with color.
Day 7: most flaking will come off and pigment will look light under the new growth of the new skin. This is in its milky stage, some clients will experience what we call ghosting of color (hypopigmentation). Do not worry, this is a temporary body response—the color should show more at 4 weeks for most people and for hypopigmenation cases, can take up to 8 weeks.
Day 8-10: brows should fully heal for most people during this time. No more flaking of old skin. Client can now apply makeup and workout.
Day 14-28: clients will start to see more color and vibrancy as the skin is now healing more. Remember some clients can take up to 8 weeks to see color if they hypopigment.

5. NO makeup on the lips area
6. No Sun tanning or salon tanning; swimming; excessive sun exposure (wear a hat when outside for a longer period)
7. Refrain from drinking alcohol within 2 days after procedure. Please note that drinking alcohol in excess may slow the healing period for lips and can affect healed results.
8. If you are taking an antiviral for cold sore, please continue taking it until lips have fully healed. If you experience burning itching sensation—you may have developed a cold sore. Apply rubbing alcohol on cotton and hold onto site for 25 seconds to prevent spread. You can also buy Abreva and make sure to use cotton qtip to apply at the site of cold sore. Any sites with cold sore breakouts will not heal with color.
