 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Once you have read through the FAQ and signed consent, we will first draw it according to how you like it. I will ONLY start the semi permanent tattoo process once you have approved the shape and color of choice that is fit for you. Once you have finalized your decision, we will begin the semi permanent tattoo process. You will be numbed before and during the procedure with topical anesthetic to make sure you are comfortable the whole time. Expect a booking time of 3 hours.

  • You may not be a good candidate for semi-permanent services if you have certain health conditions or take certain medications.

    Semi permanent makeup is NOT recommended for clients who are or have:

    • Under 18 years old

    • Pregnant or Breastfeeding

    • Allergies to topical anaesthetics or pigment

    • Keloid scarring

    • Eczema, Psoriasis, Rashes, Severe Acne on the Treatment Area

    • If you have a transmittable blood disease such as HIV or hepatitis

    • Accutane in the past year

    • Viral infections and/ or diseases

    • Chemical peel within the last few weeks

    • Medications, treatments, or illness that compromises the immune system

    • Diabetes, Chemotherapy and any other Medical conditions consult your doctor (must provide doctor's note)

    • Botox near brows within 4 weeks

    Please inform your artist if you have any allergies, medical conditions, or take any medications.

  • The expected longevity is 3-5 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how you care for it. Increased exposure to sunlight especially without sunscreen is one example that will speed fading. Over time, the color will fade and become light.

  • A topical anesthetic will be used before and throughout the procedure. The pain level is tolerable. Most say the wiping hurts more than the actual needle. However, it does vary person to person and every effort will be made to ensure you remain comfortable. If you are on your menstrual cycle, you will be more sensitive.

  • The healing process should take 10-14 days.

    At day 2, your eyeliner will appear darker but do not be alarmed this is expected. The color will lighten 20-30% when healed and will continue to fade over time.

    At day 3-5, you can expect your eyeliner to start flaking. During the flaking period, your eyeliner will appear light and patchy but give it 4 weeks the color will even out and resurface.

    Once your eyeliner is done flaking (usually within 5-7 days), you may resume normal activities such as applying makeup, working out, etc. (EXCEPT certain activities listed in the aftercare) To prolong the longevity of your eyeliner, avoid aggressive washing and exfoliating of the eyes.

  • If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring or send few reference photos. You may draw in your eyeliner as you normally would so I can take into consideration the shape you desire.

    Precare: Moisturize your eyes starting one week before. The softer the skin the easier it is to work with. Avoid any blood thinning medication day of treatment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, and Ibuprofen. Do not consume ANY alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours prior your appointment. If you have anemia or low iron, please take an iron supplement prior to procedure.

  • Not every client heals well which is why touch-up is needed. It is considered a perfection session to go over any light spots that didn't take. Reasons could be due to excessive sun exposure, existing scarring, bleeding during the session etc. It is also a reason to go darker especially if you're worried about going too dark the first time.

    If you feel your eyeliner healed amazing after the initial session and you love the way it looks then a touchup is not required.

  • Touch-up appointment can be scheduled anytime after 6-8 weeks and no sooner than 4 weeks. This is optional. Touch-up session is considered a perfection session to go over any spots that did not pick up pigment or if you would like to go darker/bigger etc. After touch-up, they should last you 3-5 years. Touch-ups are not done frequently to maintain skin integrity.

  • Yes if it is faded and the shape is not too big. If they are too dark and big, you will need laser tattoo removal. Skin is like a cup, once it’s filled you can not add more. For best results, laser removal is recommended. Photos must be sent and approved before booking.

Aftercare

  • Expect some redness and swelling right after the procedure. You may also experience a white halo surrounding the area and this is related to the topical anesthetic used. These symptoms will disappear in the next hour or so. INSTRUCTIONS:

    1. Avoid getting your eyeliner soaked in water until your eyeliner is fully healed (when it is done flaking). Healing time varies from 5-7 days. You may wash with water and gently pat dry as needed.

    2. Apply a grain size of A&D/Vaseline/Aquaphor ointment using a Q-tip on each eye. Apply the ointment twice a day, morning and night. If you have oily skin, apply once at night. It is crucial that during the healing period that you maintain facial hygiene and AVOID:​

    • Touching or picking the eye (apply ointment with Q-tip). Picking can lead to color loss, scarring and infection (especially if hands are not clean).

    • Getting the eyes soaked with water. Accidental splash of water is okay as long as you pat dry with a napkin. It is best to wash your face by the sink prior to showering or you can avoid the eyebrow area when showering.

    • Any makeup on the eye area

    • Workouts that involve a lot of sweating; sauna, facial massage and steaming

    • Sun tanning or salon tanning; swimming; excessive sun exposure (wear a hat when outside for a longer period)

    • Drinking alcohol in excess (may lead to slow healing) ​

  • Your eyeliner will take couple of days to deswell and this is normal. You may ice your eyes for up to 30 minutes twice a day.

    At day 3-5, you can expect your eyeliner to itch and flake. When the flakes fall off, some areas of the eyeliner may appear too light but with time, the color will resurface. It is crucial that you do not pick/touch your eyeliner to avoid color loss and/or possible scarring.

    Total eyeliner healing time is 7 days. You may resume normal activities such as washing your eyes or applying makeup after you are done flaking or after 7 days.

    Final result and color will be at 4 weeks. ​ 

  • Avoid sunbathing, solarbrium, light therapies, chemical peelings, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors. Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can speed pigment fading.

    Other ways to extend the color of your eyeliner: being gentle around the eye area when washing your face or when exfoliating avoid the eye area. Always avoid laser treatments over the treated area (fraxel, laser, IPL) because it can destroy the pigments.
